mssgs rebuilds voice chat and places the call on top of the game

mssgs has rebuilt voice chat on the desktop. A configurable overlay shows the call, and optionally the conversation, over a running game, while voice adds push to talk, visible noise suppression, per-device audio control and a connection quality reading.

mssgs has added watch parties, where a channel watches a video together and every participant can play, pause and scrub by default. The last minutes can be saved as a clip, edited, and exported for TikTok, Snapchat or YouTube.

mssgs has rebuilt search on the desktop. A result carries the conversation around it inside the search itself. Results are grouped per channel across a whole community, and can be filtered by author and by date.

mssgs gives content moderation to the communities themselves

mssgs has released a Reported Content queue in which community moderators review reports from their own members, with review deadlines and a visible vote. Reported content is preserved as it appeared, so deleting it does not end the review.

mssgs opens its chat to AI assistants through a local MCP server

mssgs has added a local Model Context Protocol server to its desktop application, allowing AI assistants to read and act in a member’s conversations. The server runs on the member’s own computer, can access only the channels they expose, and enables each capability separately.

mssgs is a group chat app for friends, communities and teams: channels, direct messages, voice and video calls, built-in games, bots and AI integrations over MCP. It is free to use and available on iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, Linux and the web.

mssgs is built by RUAL (Deverence Group B.V.) in Brummen, a Dutch software company that has been making business software and no-code platforms since 2009. All data is hosted in the EU, there are no ads, and nothing is sold on. mssgs is entirely self-funded.
